World Cup 2018 – Quarter Finals Review

Well, fuck…
Whose idea was it to put the Quarter Finals over the weekend, don’t they know there is drinking to be done?!

Quarter-finals

Friday 6 July

Uruguay 0 France 2

Brazil 1 Belgium 2

Saturday 7 July

Sweden 0 England 2

Russia 2 Croatia 2 (Croatia win 4-3 on penalties)

In a weekend which featured; my girlfriends birthday, me getting a job, Pride in London, a visit from family and latterly my exam results – I still managed to get the games in for the lads.

While France and Belgium both look supreme, I have already predicted that it is coming home purely out of personal spite. I should briefly mention how satisfying it was to see Brazil turfed out after Neymar took it on himself to mock the trapped Thai children by diving repeatedly.
It was sad to see Russia fall at the last but it would appear their chief chemist was busy elsewhere. After all that, the Coca Cola World Cup 2018 will be won by a European or Brexitean team. Poor old Messi.

Reflecting on my free time spent watching football and writing here is slightly depressing for me, now I’m constricted by a job this time would appear to have been a nice window for a magnum opus. Oh well, there was a Coca Cola World Cup on, be reasonable.
Incidentally, the freedom afforded by my new job and the fact that I managed to pass my exams means that I could ostensibly write my magnum opus if I so desired. Recent readings of Satre would imply that I do not desire and I’m currently fine with that. One day I’ll print off all the entries I’ve written about this world cup and send them off to Coca Cola and Pepsi, the corporate espionage war which I will be at the center off will later seal my fate.

Speaking of Corporations – Pride in London has been co-opted by sad on brand, on message corporate floats who treat the event as a way to get advertising out. The rest of the day is glorious and I would thoroughly recommend everyone goes at least once.

Lastly, it would now appear that stopping Brexit, a Socialist government and Nuclear war are equally possible. Good news.
