Independence

During the lead up to Scotlands failed independence bid, i felt myself becoming more and more impassioned by the debate. However, I wasn’t in the country to argue with people in pubs or attend rallies etc., Instead I found myself spouting rubbish into a notebook and creating silly pictures on the Websites. Here is a taster of some of the more coherent rambles/images from the days where things in Scotland briefly took on colour…

Welcome to Scotland. Conceived 18th of September 2014

This was predicting the potential baby boom post yes vote. Of course this didn’t happen, instead a small sect of brainless negatives will spawn or hatch from their otherwise barron mothers whose uterus managed to vibrate to fever pitch just once whilst their partners erstwhile incompetent sperm fed on the cloud of negative energy to finally swim a full length. These no-marks will likely all be named Norman or Norma and will be entirely grey. Assuming No voters can even procreate.

This art was created to reflect the feeling of momentum across social networking platforms. It was rushed and would have been a beautiful art had I been arsed. It is not supposed to conjure images of other national parties who tried to take over the world as that would be bad.

Vote with Confidence

This art was a nod to one of Scotlands favourite tipples. It could be read either way, I’d like to think it said ‘if you really need to, just get wrecked out yer tits and vote yes’ but I think that would have been unlawful and ethically questionable. It could also say ‘you need a bottle of wine in you to vote yes, that’s not good.’ So it’s open ended as all good art can be.

Y did u do it?!

This, the last piece in the independence collection is another satirical glance at the moment surrounding the eventual No vote. Though not the original print, this hyper colourised version is preferred by the artist himself. “Pandas are deeply spiritual beasts and it was clear to all those who know Tian Tian that she was a Yes voter. The deeply negative energy that surrounded the No campaign could have been and almost certainly was responsible for the miscarriage or phantom pregnancy she suffered.”
